KA4VFD/R is a open repeater located on Short Mountain, which is approximately 7 km ExNE of Woodbury, TN.
Frequency is 442.825 MHz with a positive offset. CTCSS tone is 107.2 Hz.
The repeater is a Uniden Force with a CAT 200B Repeater Controller installed and Trilectric UHF power amplifier for 'more power from the tower'. A 6 cavity CelWave Duplexer completes the system. The repeater feeds into a Diamond Antenna UHF/VHF combiner which is also fed by the NT4UX APRS Digipeater. From there, both systems share the same tri-band antenna, providing coverage to much of eastern Middle TN.
The system has a Kenwood UHF mobile radio interfaced for linking to other area repeaters. This machine is linked to the KE4PJW-R repeater located in south Nashville. By linking these two machines, coverage is doubled in both directions.
