KA4VFD/R is a open repeater located on Short Mountain, which is approximately 7 km ExNE of Woodbury, TN. Elevation is roughly 2,000 feet.
Frequency is 442.825 MHz with a positive offset. CTCSS tone is 107.2 Hz.
The repeater is a Uniden Force with a CAT 200B Repeater Controller installed and Trilectric UHF power amplifier for 'more power from the tower'. A 6 cavity CelWave Duplexer completes the system. The repeater utilizes a Decibel Products DB-408 high gain antenna, providing coverage to much of eastern Middle TN.
The system has a Kenwood UHF mobile radio interfaced for linking to other area repeaters. This machine is currently linked to the WA4AKM system of UHF repeaters covering the mid state.
